Truman Alton Landers

Truman A. Landers, 82, of Prineville passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2017. There will be a celebration of life August 12, at 3 p.m. at Stryker Park under the covered area behind the firehall on NE Court.

He was born February 12, 1935 in Fort Towson, Okla. He graduated in 1953 from Crook County High School. Truman shortly after graduation enlisted into the Army for two years where he fought in the Korean War.

Truman worked at the U.S Postal Service for 30 years where he retired. After retirement he dabbled in many different things, where he became an accomplished player of various card games. Truman became a lifetime member of Crook County Fire and Rescue with 50 plus years.

He belonged to many organizations like Elks, Eagles, American Legion, and the Veterans club.

He was loved dearly by his wife Dixie Jo (Holliday) Landers, two daughters, Debbie (Mike) Wright, and Delora (John) Hodgson. Two grandchildren, Melissa (Greg) Pelton, Stephanie Wright, and three great grandchildren Aiden, Mallory, and Ethan and, many numerous nieces and nephews.

Truman is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and sister.

Arrangements are being held by Juniper Ridge Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Charles Hospice of Prineville, and Crook County Fire and Rescue through Juniper Ridge Funeral Home 678 N Main St.
