Joyce Carol Quentel

Joyce Carol Quentel (Gentry), 81, passed away Thursday, February 1, 2018, in Prineville, Ore. A public Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Rita Catholic Church 10029 NE Prescott St, Portland, Ore.

Joyce was born on July 18, 1936 in Heppner, Ore. She attended St. Patricks grade school, then went onto Cathedral High, then graduated in 1954 from Lincoln High.

She worked at the Multnomah Hotel as a Cocktail waitress , she helped Sunset Design Embroidery start their company in 1968-1970 in a garage in Condord, Calif.

Joyce played mushball in high school, and loved going to all the grandkids softball and baseball games. She also loved gardening, fishing, and taking the kids to the zoo and movies. For many years she would make sure that all her grandkids got to enjoy the monorail at Meyer and Frank’s Christmas display. Joyce loved roses and trees, her favorites were, orange roses and the Blue Spruce tree. She enjoyed feeding the deer, quail and rabbits.x

Joyce was known for her kind heart, she always had a smile and a nice thing to say about everyone, she loved her morning mocha, was loved by all who knew her. She went to Cathedral Catholic Church.

Joyce is survived by two daughters, Linda (Tom), and Renee’ (Darrin), eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Joyce is preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, David Quentel, her two year old baby daughter, Michelle Bong, brother, Frank V. Gentery, and parents, Frank W. and Kathleen Gentery.

Memorial Contributions can be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children through Juniper Ridge Funeral Home.
